Ms.Mondal did her graduation in Zoology Honours from Bethune College, University of Calcutta and her masters in Biotechnology from Dr. B. C. Guha Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Calcutta. She is presently doing her Ph.D. on “Studies on the effects of telomerase inhibition on cervical cancer cells” under the guidance of Dr. Urmi Chatterji, Department of Zoology, University of Calcutta.

She worked in various projects namely “Replacement of Domain B of ARS1 with a sequence of lower helical stability from Entamoeba histolytica can result in suppression of mcm phenotype in mcm mutants in budding yeast.” 2005 under the supervision of Dr. Pratima Sinha, Department of Biochemistry, Bose Institute, Kolkata and “Cyclin D1 amplification in oral cancer cells”, 2003 under the supervison of Dr. Tanuja Teni, ACTREC, Mumbai.

AWARDS :

1. Selected for Academy Summer Fellowship, 2005 from Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore.
2. Qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship - NET held on 19.12.2004.
3. Qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2004.
4. Received the Certificate of Merit, 2001 for being first in the Annual Examination in Zoology Honours at Bethune College.
5. Received the Sarala Ghosh Memorial Scholarship in the year 2000-2001 at Bethune College.
