  1. Industrial application of microbes isolated especially in Bioremediation in areas of sulfate and nitrate reduction
  2. Microbial Biodiversity Screening of East Calcutta wetlands Dhapa. Calcutta.
  3. Molecular Biology of Methanosarcina barkeri and its molecular mechanism of double strand break repair. Identification and purification of DNA replication and repair proteins and enzymes like topoisomerase, SSB etc.
  4. Structure-function correlation of various forms of DNA by statistical analysis of local doublet parameter obtained through Crystallographic data mining , Monte Carlo simulation technique & molecular dynamics approach.
  5. Application of sequence dependent DNA flexibility parameter in phylogenetic study and its role in gene expression.

Other Projects carried out and currently under progress or completed :

  1. CASTLE Project (Computer Aided Studies, Teaching and Learning Environment) using Bengali Linux OS on LTSP cluster using One Server and 4 terminals at an affordable cost for the package that would contain teaching material for students from Class VI to Class X. Implemented at Bijira High School, West Bengal.
  2. Implementation of Open Source Digital Library Software after customization of Koha with DSpace creating a fully functional Digital Library System Software.
  3. Examination reforms carried out to ensure publication results within time.
  4. Registration of students with barcoded UID of 17 digits
  5. Implementation of SIT installation in 102 colleges affiliated to WBUT across the state for setting up a University Wide Network. Work was completed and during UGC visit was utilised for networking with affiliated colleges
  6. We have implemented WiMax capability in the West Bengal State University and integrated NMEICT 1 Gbps connectivity for seamless operation efficiencyto our server system which is currently a six blade HP server with dual processor each being quadcore.
  7. We have also filed for patenting invention in enzyme mediated processes
