ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Education at West Bengal State University is a vibrant department and started its activities from the beginning. There are twenty five post graduate students who are actively involved in academic activities. The department is very active and will vigorously expand academically in next few years and it will be engaged in active research in the areas of Comparative Education, Mental Hygiene, Educational Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, History of Education in India. The department currently has only one full-time faculty and a number of expert Guest faculty.

1. The book entitled, “Drop outs in elementary Education A comprehensive study ” was published by Abhijeet Publications, Delhi in 2010, ISBN 978-83-80031-70-5
2. The book entitled , “Siksha Darshaner Rup-rekha” was published by Classique Books, Kolkata in 2010, ISBN 87616-44-X
3. A chapter entitled as , Gender in equality in the education system of India” was published in the book, “ Welfare Choice and development : Essays in honor of Prof. Amartya Sen) Edited by Biswanath Sen published by Kanishka Publishers distributors, New Delhi, ISBN - 81-7391-384-6

PAPER PUBLISHED

 “An enquiry into the causes of drop – out in ten primary schools in the district of Hoogly”, submitted to the 2nd W.B State Science Congress and it was published later.

A Case study concerning the effect of living Environment on Public Health in some congested suburbs in Hoogly district “ submitted to the 2nd Indian Educational Science Congress and it was published later on.

Learners' Comprehension in different levels of Education of West Bengal was presented and published in UGC sponsored Seminar in RRR Mahavidyalaya, Radhanagar. 

Education for all at elementary level : A matter of Right to Inclusion in Education was presented and published in national seminar held in IASE (K.U).
