ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Hindi started functioning from 2008 to impart higher education in Hindi Language and Literature. The aims and objectives of Master Degree in Hindi is not only to inform the origin and development of the language and literature but also to empower the students to understand the social, economical and cultural aspects of a particular period through the literature. The Department also aims to develop the creativity of the students. It emphasizes the humanity and tries its best to cultivate self-belief and self-confidence amongst the students to approach the Hindi literature of any period with their originality.

COURSES OFFERED

Besides all the conventional syllabus- the Literary Genres, Linguistics, Poetics, Special Papers, the Department of Hindi teaches a full paper on Indian Literature which consists of a novel of Bengali, a Drama of Marathi and a poetry collection of Punjabi which shall enable the students to get an overview of literature of Indian Panorama and the closed windows of their minds, if any, shall be opened up. Continuous Evaluation through seminars, discussions, Paper presentation, Class-Tests, Assignments etc. enables the students to learn the language and literature very interesting and enjoyable. The students get a new flavor of studying Hindi.

Two days seminar organized with joint collaboration of Kendriya Hindi Nideshalaya, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi .
