Research Areas

Title of the Ph.D thesis:   Realization of Logic Circuits and Image Processing using Quantum Nanodevices

Develop a 2D periodic array of GaAs quantum dots   embedded on the surface of GaAs resonant tunneling Diode. In the structure each dot is coupled electrically with its nearest neighbor and interfaced with the substrate by a resistor which exhibits negative differential resistance. As the substrate is having non linear characteristics so current passes through the substrate will also be a nonlinear in characteristics. Non linearity of the substrate conduction can yield global associative memory effect and lead to image processing. Through the structure realization of basic logic gates are possible and thus the morphological image processing can be done by those logic gates.
