Obtained his M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication from University of Calcutta in 2004. Obtained P.G. Diploma in Mass Communication from Jadavpur University, Diploma in Video Journalism from West Bengal State Council for Technical Education, Diploma in News Reading & Anchoring from West Bengal State Council for Technical Education in 2003, 2003 and 2002 respectively. Obtained Certificate in Science Communication & Media Practice from Indian Science News Association in collaboration with University of Calcutta in 2001. He has 7 years of teaching experience both in under-graduate and post-graduate level in reputed universities and academic/educational institutions. Before joining as Assistant Professor in this university he was Sub-Divisional Information & Cultural Officer of West Bengal Government and also an Assistant Editor of “Sikshadarpan” (education related quarterly mouthpiece of Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal). He is at present working as the Chairperson, Undergraduate Board of Studies of Journalism & Mass Communication, West Bengal State University for 3 years and working also as the Coordinator for conducting the Undergraduate Examination for 3 years. He is also a member of Postgraduate Board of Studies of Journalism & Mass Communication, West Bengal State University. He is doing his Ph.D. Research work on Terrorism & Media under University of Calcutta. He is also attached with Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhas Open University, RoopKala Kendro as a Guest Faculty. He has participated various local, state, regional, national, international seminars, symposia, conferences as a paper presenter, discussiont, speaker, analyst etc. He was an ex-Senate Member of University of Calcutta. He participates regularly cultural programmes as an anchor. Worked in various awareness campaigns like Pulse Polio, Total Sanitation, Scientific Awareness, AIDS Prevention & Control etc. Delivers speeches in different seminars, symposia, public gatherings, conferences and conventions etc. He contributes articles, features etc in dailies, magazines, periodicals, journals etc. on regular basis and participates radio talks of Akashvani (A.I.R.), Kolkata etc. regularly.
