Obtained his Masters degree in Commerce with a specialisation in Accounting securing first class from Calcutta University in 2002 and thereafter successfully completed M.Phil from the same university in 2004 and secured the highest marks in M.Phil. He is granted Accounting Technician Certificate by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in successful pursuance of his Chartered Accountancy Intermediate course. He served industry as audit trainee for three years before joining academics. Prof. Das has a total teaching experience of more than five years out of which four years at the post graduate level which includes almost three years of teaching in Burdwan University as Lecturer in Commerce. He has actively participated in several national and international seminars, conferences and workshops and also presented research papers in them. He delivered several invited lectures as key resource person and as guest faculty in the area of finance in several management colleges. He has successfully guided one research scholar in Burdwan University for M.Phil dissertation. Presently he is serving this department of commerce & management since 1st April, 2009.

Area of Specialisation

His broad areas of teaching interest include foreign exchange markets, money and capital markets, derivative markets, bond markets and financial services markets. He is presently pursuing his research work in the area of initial public offering by Indian companies. His major research interest involves studying under pricing of new issues in primary market, analysing trend of post-listing market prices of IPOs, hedging practices adopted by Indian companies using derivative instruments and performance of mutual fund schemes.
