Educational Qualification-
Pursuing Ph.D in Psychology from the Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta. Study titled: Personality Traits, Metacognitive Beliefs and Executive Functions in Patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: A Search for an Endophenotypic Model.
Completed B.Sc. in Psychology from Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College securing 2nd position in University, followed by M.Sc. from the Dept. of Psychology, University of Calcutta securing 3rd position in University, with specialization in Medical Psychology. Secured topmost rank in M. Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the Dept. of Psychology, University of Calcutta (2007)
Research Experience- Worked as a Junior Research Scientist in a Department of Science and Technology funded project carried out by the Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta (2004-2005) under Principal Investigator Dr. Pritha Mukhopadhyay entitled "Detection of Neuropsychological Impairment in Psychiatric Disorders through Neuroimaging and Neuropsychological Techniques" employing neuropsychological tests and functional magnetic resonance imagery (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). Has carried out dissertation for M.Phil Degree in Clinical Psychology entitled: "Obsessive Trait, Metacognition and Executive Functions in OCD and First Degree Relatives – A Study of Cognitive Endophenotypes" (2007) and for M.Sc. Degree entitled: “Personality and Cognitive Profile of Siblings of Children with Autism: A Comparative Study”. (2003).

- Recipient of G.G.Prabhu Best Student in M.Phil in Clinical Psychology Award from the Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta (2010)
- The paper entitled “Study of Metacognition in OCD from a Neuropsychological Perspective” presented by S. Tarafder has been awarded Best Paper in Anxiety and Depression in Clinical Studies Section in National Conference of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (2009) , held in Sweekar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences, Secundrabad.
- The paper entitled “A Comparative study of personality, coping and executive functions in Autogenous and Reactive Obsessions in Psychotherapy for Anxiety based Disorders Section in National Conference of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (2009), held in Sweekar Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences, Secundrabad.
- The paper entitled “Comparison of obsessive traits, meta cognitive beliefs, executive functions and working memory among OCD and their first degree relatives” presented by S. Tarafdar has been awarded Best Paper in Clinical Case Studies Section in National Conference of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (2008) , held in Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta.
- Won the P.C.Chandra Award Of Excellence (Gold Medal) For All-round Achievement from Gokhale Memorial Girls College (2000)
Sociocultural involvement – Associated with Tribal literacy movement carried out by Ekal Foundation.
Contribution in socio-academics- Conducts Anger management and Stress management workshops for Industrial organizations. Columnist of a magazine for Madhyamik students – “Vision Madhyamik”
