He has obtained M.Phil degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calcutta in 2009. He was formerly attached to an NGO named Hope Kolkata Foundation and Pratibandhi Kalyan Kendra, as a counselor, where he conducted individual and group counseling of children, provided training for children and caregivers regarding psychosocial issues. He has worked as a Special Honorary Trainee Teacher from August 2005 to July 2006 in PRADIP: Centre for Autism Management.

He teaches Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology at WBSU. He also works as a Clinical Internship supervisor to guide the students with specialization in Counseling Psychology, during their postings at city hospitals.
